The information on this page relates to students who will be graduating from school in 2018 and 2019, i.e. current Year 11 and 12 students. For information about the new QCE system starting with Year 11 students in 2019, visit the QCAA website.
All students in Queensland are issued with a Senior Education Profile when they complete Year 12. The contents of your senior education profile will vary depending on your learning achievements.
Your Senior Statement is a record of your learning account. It shows your studies and results that may contribute to the award of a QCE or Tertiary Entrance Statement. Every student who attends school up to the last day of Year 12 receives a Senior Statement.
Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
The QCE is Queensland's senior school qualification. It is awarded to eligible students who achieve a significant amount of learning to a set standard and in a set pattern, while also meeting numeracy and literacy requirements. Students who are not eligible for a QCE at the end of Year 12 have an additional seven years to meet the eligibility requirements.
Tertiary Entrance Statement
If you are eligible for an Overall Position (OP) you will receive a Tertiary Entrance Statement as part of your Senior Education Profile. Your Tertiary Entrance Statement shows your OP and FPs. These are used to rank students for admission to tertiary courses.
Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA)
The QCIA recognises the achievements of students who are on individualised learning programs. Only students who have impairments or difficulties in learning that are not primarily due to socioeconomic, cultural or linguistic factors are eligible.
