How can I find out my QCS Test result?

Your QCS Test result will be available in your learning account on the Student Connect website from 9 am on Wednesday 16 November. You need your 10-digit Learner Unique Identifier (LUI) and password to log in. If you don’t know your LUI, ask your school for it. If you do not know your password, your school can reset it for you. Also, make sure your email address is a personal one, since your school email will cease to exist once you leave school and you may want to check your account after that.

Your QCS Test result will appear on the ‘Enrolments and Results’ tab in your learning account. It will also appear on your Senior Statement which you will receive in the post, as part of your Senior Education Profile, at the end of December.

Your school will also have access to your QCS Test result.

How are QCS Test results reported?

QCS Test results are reported on a five-point scale from A (highest) to E (lowest).

What impact will my QCS Test result have on my OP?

Your OP is not based on your individual QCS Test grade.

QCS Test results contribute to group data used in the scaling processes in OP calculations. While it is important that you do your best on the QCS Test, it is how well you achieve in your Authority subjects that matters most for your OP.

It is theoretically possible for a student to get an E on the QCS Test and get an OP 1 or get an A on the test and get an OP 25. Though these examples are highly unlikely, they illustrate that, in relation to OPs and FPs, the purpose of the test is to gain subject and school group means and mean differences which are used in the calculation of students’ OPs.

What impact will my QCS Test result have on my QCE-eligibility?

A result of C or above will ensure you have met the literacy and numeracy requirements for a QCE. If you got a D or below on the test, don’t panic. There are other ways to meet the QCE literacy and numeracy requirements. If you have any concerns about your QCE-eligibility, talk to your school.

What impact will my QCS Test result have on my tertiary selection rank?

A result of D or better on the QCS Test may boost your tertiary selection rank. If you have a question about tertiary selection ranks, contact QTAC on 1300 467 822 or visit www.qtac.edu.au.

Can I get my QCS Test result checked?

Yes. You will receive an Application for verification or review of information form with your Senior Education Profile in December. If you want to get your QCS Test result verified or any of the information on your Senior Statement, QCE or Tertiary Entrance Statement checked, you need to complete and return this form (with the $49.95 application fee) to QCAA before 5 pm on Monday 9 January 2017.

If you apply to have your QCS Test result verified, we will check that we scanned your response sheets, entered your results and calculated your grade correctly. We won’t re-mark your test papers because they have already been graded by multiple markers.

If an error is found, QCAA will refund your application fee, send you updated documents, and notify QTAC of the error.

Who can I talk to about my QCS Test result?

If you have a question about your QCS Test result or any of the results in your learning account, you can call the Student Connect hotline on 1800 804 991 or email studentconnect@qcaa.qld.edu.au.
